HATHA YOGA

The practice of Hatha yoga focuses on total mastery of the physical body, including all bodily functions. It also emphasizes activating the Chakras (energetic body centers) in order to stimulate kundalinī (Spiritual Energy) and promote spiritual and physical wellness, including disease elimination.

Hatha Yoga class are moderately balanced practice combining yoga pose (Āsana), breathing practices (Prānāyaama), meditation (Dhyāna), symbolic gestures (Mudra) and the chanting of mantras to open or close the class.

A Hatha Yoga practice aims to balance yoga practitioner’s body, keeping it healthy in order to be free from distractions and access the subtle purification of the mind.  The Hatha Yoga practitioner will eventually develop a subtle awareness within the body that aids in cultivating a meditative state.
